Business Wellness Funding
Brisbane North Chamber of Commerce has secured over $4000 to provide mental wellness support for northside businesses.
The State Government has provided the grant funding as part of its Chamber Wellness Program, which has seen more than 30 chambers across the state sharing in more than $150,000.
BNCC’s funds will help deliver a mental health awareness and workplace resilience workshop program here on the Northside.
Chamber president, Simon Penrose, said the program would provide much-needed support to the business community.
“We know business owners have been through some challenging times over recent years.
“These strains take their toll, and many people struggle with what can often feel like a lonely and never-ending business grind.
“Our motto as a chamber is ‘the business community supporting each other,’ and that’s why the wellness program is so key to what we are all about as an organisation,” he said.
Small Business Minister Di Farmer said the Chamber Wellness Program would equip local chambers with the skills and resources to tailor mental health wellness initiatives to local small business owners and operators in their region.
“Running a business can be very rewarding, but it can also take its toll on the business owners and employees – when the business is under stress,” she said.
Details of BNCC’s wellness workshop program will be announced in July.
